Music Resource of the Month

Guest Post from Bridget Anese ...

Introducing…sparklebox.co.uk!

I know that many of you music teachers out there know of this website already, but I was only introduced to this fantastic resource by the fabulous Fiona Burnett from KMEIA Townsville and am very grateful.

Is your classroom looking dull? This (completely FREE) website has got you covered. It contains poster on instruments, rhythms, musical elements etc. to laminate and put around your room to make your music room more enticing. I will be jazzing up my teaching room with these posters very soon.

You can use the resources for more than just decorating; think musical bingo, snap, getting students to walk to the appropriate musical sign, reinforcing correct groupings of rhythms and beats (for the older kids)….the list goes on! We would love to hear from you on how you use the resources in your classroom! This is also a great resource for the classroom teacher incorporating the arts in your everyday lessons!

Imagine the time this resource (sorry, did I mention FREE resource?) could save you! Just download, print and laminate! The website also contains an advertisement that links to funmusicco.com, an online resource with eBooks and lessons for those teachers lucky enough to have SMART boards! This one is not so free, but they do send you free samples when you sign up.

There you have it! Send us in any other ideas you have regarding this resource! Like Debbie, I truly believe in sharing what you know with others, because, more often that not, you will also get something in return!

Thanks Bridget.
If you have any ideas you would love to share please leave them in the comment section.

Don't forget to pop by the Crescendo website for more music teaching resources.
